QR code to the world for the Tourism programme
Audiovisual storytelling in tourism (a historical walk through Geil) or how to plan and create a city guide using an app. Students in higher vocational education should be able to use professional tools and develop services relevant to their professional practice. In a world where technology is constantly evolving, learners need to embrace new technology in their work and acquire the skills to learn new tools and use them effectively.
In this project, tourism students are given a task that requires the use of new technology. The assignment requires not only a practical mastery of the technology, but also an understanding and reflection on how the technology can be used most effectively.
The project revolves around creating a digital experience for tourists in Geil, and the students designed content and shaped it into a product using the Voice of Norway app: an audio guide to Geil, complete with photos. Using the app, a tourist can scan QR codes while walking around Geil and listen to stories or see photos of the city in the past.
