AI and blended learning

15 November 2023

On 8 and 9 November 2023, Rimske Terme, Slovenia hosted more than 100 of the best teachers from all over Slovenia. The main theme was opening the door to artificial intelligence in schools. “This is the kind of opportunity and the kind of problem that we cannot imagine,” former President of Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor enthused the gathering with a speech on AI in the political arena, outlining a strategy for collecting data and reaching out to potential voters on social media.

As part of the 4th National Professional Conference on Creative Learning Environments, organised by School Centre Celje, we presented the project Blended learning in vocational education and training – BlendVET. More than 100 VET professionals visited and tried their hand at using web-based solutions to support blended learning. Among other things, they were able to see e-learning materials in the field of advanced videography, enriched with H5P dynamics, immersion in virtual reality and augmented reality and the intricacies of developing serious educational computer games. Particular attention was drawn to enriched videos for various VET programmes, an application that allows the experience of a recording day in virtual reality and a computer game for the teaching of electrical engineering.

Visitors agreed that all the tools were very rich in content, interactive and effective.
